Are ATA-100 cables backwards compatible with ATA 33 drives?

I just got a new Western Digital hard drive and am getting "Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed" so it looks like I need a ATA-100 compliant cable. I still have my old ATA-33 hard drive connected, so I need it to be backwards compatible. Can I just get a new ATA-100 IDE cable...

Is there a portable storage device that lets you download digital pics off a camera?

I'm looking for some sort of portable storage device to download my digital pics off of, so i won't need to bring a laptop along on a trip do so. Does anything like this exist out there? Some sort of Microdrive-based device perhaps? Thanks.

Is Trendware network stuff anygood?

I just saw a Wireless NIC for only $25 (buy.com product link) from a company called Trendware, and was wondering if anyone had ever heard of it before. Will buying from a name brand, like netgear or linksys, really make that much more of a performance difference for a wireless NIC? Thanks.

anyone used a netgear CM212 cable modem with adelphia cable?

Hi, I wanted to buy the Netgear CM212 cable modem for use with Adelphia Cable, but it isnt on their list of recommended modems despite the fact that its DOCSIS approved. should i care if its not on their approved list, and has anyone used it successfully with adephia. thx.

Random Disconnect issues (on wireless network) with Netgear WG511 Wireless Card and Linksys WAP54g Access Point

Does anyone using a Netgear WG511 (802.11g) pcmcia card and Linksys WAP54g Access point have problems with random disconnects? In general, has anyone had issues with random disconnects using 802.11g wireless networks? Is it possible that this is related to access point/wireless card hardware...

Does 802.11g offer better range and interference-compensation than 802.11b?

Just wondering if there were other benefits of 802.11g besides the obvious increase in bandwidth versus 802.11b. Just trying to figure out if its worth it to spend a little extra money on 802.11g hardware. Thanks.

Which wireless router/pc card brand is better: D-link or Netear

Im looking at getting a wireless router and PC Card for our network, and was wondering what other people thought of these wireless routers: D-Link AirPlus DI-614+ and the Netgear MR814? As far as PC Cards goes, how are the Netgear MA401 and the D-Link Air DWL 650+?
