Which PCI-e 6600GT to get?

I have a Gigabyte 6600GT.. works well. The fan isn't very loud at all, however I replaced it anyway with a VF700 for lower temps/complete silence. Upgrading from a Dell, it was difficult adjusting to fan noise, so I had to make everything completely silent. All in all, its a very good card.

A8N-SLI and Kingston HyperX PC3200

I have it at 2-3-3-6 T1 at stock voltage.. ran memtest all night (2,550%) and got 1 error.. thats considered stable right? :P When I have my timings at 2-3-2-6 T1.. its stable withing Windows etc, however memtest detects a bunch of errors, like some numbers not matching up or something.. Is...

A8N-SLI and Kingston HyperX PC3200

I'm mostly curious what kind of timings (using safe voltages) people with this motherboard/ram combination have achieved. I know the Kingston HyperX PC 3200 is rated at 2-3-2-6 T1, however I have been unable to reach these timings (Windows will not load, computer restarts over and over etc)...

Its a really nice case. I have one and like it very much.. keeps very cool. The PSU that comes with the case isn't that loud (I'm sure other fans inside your computer are louder than it anyway). What are the specs of the computer you're making? Its not a very powerful PSU.. just something to...

35ms LCD monitor + gaming

It's a cheap Dell 15inc (E151FP) LCD monitor (free monitor upgrade with purchase of a computer).. and I see zero ghosting while playing Counter Strike. The response time is 35ms.. is this due to the monitor being so small? I know people complain about ghosting on the 19inc Dell 1905FP that has...

Dell Ultra Sharp 1905FP

Why not run my PSU without its cover/enclosure to cool it better?

Fyi, Memtest checks your memory.. won't really heat up your CPU. Run Prime95 torture test on the "In-place large FFTs" setting and I assure you your CPU temp will increase.

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

Ptr, does the Zalman fan also help cool the NB47-J? It looks like its in a way where excess air could blow onto the heatsink and help cool it a bit. Let me know.. I'll soon have this quiet combo.

Is it my A8N or my PSU?

Right before it stopped working, did you cut power to the motherboard.. like turn off your PSU using the back switch, or unplug the cable? Supposedly back when the board came out this was a problem after updating the bios using Asus Update Utility.. me and a few other people had this problem...

So.. nothing is turning on but fans and such? If so, I had this exact same problem after updating the bios using the Asus Update Utility. I tried everything; new PSU, resetting the cmos a hundred times, etc. Nothing seemed to work. Something went wrong that was unrecoverable. I had to RMA...

Try resetting the cmos. There is a little jumper near the battery. Turn off your computer, unplug the power cord.. make sure there is ZERO power to the motherboard. Pop out the battery on the motherboard (they say to in the Asus manual anyway). Move the jumper from prongs 1 and 2 to 2 and 3...

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

Silence is beautiful... Replaced the loud pos chipset fan today with a Zalman NB47J.. My idle temps for the "Motherboard" went from 32c to 26c... The heatsink isn't even warm to the touch... Works beautifully!!
