A7N8X Memory... what/where to get, and CL2 vs CL2.5

That is a pretty good choice. I have never gone wrong with Corsair memory. I run the XMS PC3200 Corsair, and it performs wonderful. It is pricy though.

IRQ sharing...possible conflict.

Have you tried disabling any devices you don't use in BIOS, like com ports, paralell... if you don't use them? That might let the IRQ's spread out some.

bad 3dmark score after i hit 146mhz FSB help!!

Could be the divider? You could be pushing the AGP/PCI bus too hard. It also could be your memory timings, you might have to ease up a bit. If you have your video overclocked also, that might be pushing it over the edge. I never overclocked an Athalon, but I had quite the trials OC my 3.06...

Help: XP 2100+ .. PC2100 or PC2700?

AMD vs. Intel

These type posts always turn into wars. And this question is a rather hard one to answer. Benchmarks are just numbers, they are somewhat useful, but we don't sit around running benchmarks all day long to feel satisfied with our purchaces. The benchmarks are only a tool, determine what you use...

Best RAM for nForce2 - Dual Channel Enhanced DDR?

I have 2 sticks of XMS 3200 cas2, and it works fine here. And my system puts a really big strain on memory. I have the P4 3.06, which is locked at a 23x multiplier. I run stable at 144 FSB, and that puts a hella strain on memory. I am still running at Cas2, 5,2,2 and it still works very stable...

P4 heatsink fan for 3.06 suggestions

Anyone know of a good quiet one? I bought the OEM chip (gasp) and it did not come with a heatsink fan setup. I bought the P4 DRAGON 478 and it does do a good job, temps stay in the 36 to 52c range under max load. But I cannot stand this thing, on high power it sounds like a jet engine at idle...

ATI Fan dying...

Benchmarks are neither here nor there in my opinion. It all really boils down to what you do with your system. AMD will always beat Intel in some things, and Intel will beat AMD in some things. Same with Nvidia and ATI. The real winner, would beat the competition by a good margin all the way...

Sounds nice, but how is the video quality? I removed my Ti 4600 and went 9700 Pro. I like the visual quality of the ATI card much better, that is what matters most to me. I upgrade video cards more now for what looks better to me, as both nVidia and ATI top cards are fast enough. To be honest...

Which laptop video card is better?

IT7-Max2 vs. Granite Bay -- The prices arent too different

The Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra is not bad. It has the 845PE chipset. I have had fairly good success with it. But the P4 3.06 with a 23 multiplier is pretty tricky to overclock, so I have only hit a 144FSB so far, but it is very stable.

Skippy mouse when booting off WD 160gb ** fixed

My system was doing that too for awhile. Everytime I saved a file or whatever, my mouse pointer really lost interest in following the mouse around, it drove me nuts. Now that you mention it.... Later I noticed that my HD was plugged into the middle connector on the IDE cable, I put it back on...
