I don't think Asus is sending return labels.
The e-mail I got from Asus provides a link to a page that I should print out and take to the local FedEx site. They will then print out the return label, take care of it, and give me a receipt. Simple if you ask me...
Zap - The auto settings with my PRO doesn't go above 1.3v @ 4.5ghz. I thought 1.3v is good for 24/7 for these 32nm chips. Are you thinking it should be lower?
Edit: The chip normally idles at ~1.1v (1.6ghz).
I agree with Shabby if you do not have much OC experience.
The Asus auto tuning feature does a good job of giving you a good but safe OC that will give you reasonable temps.
I had manually OC'd mine to 4.8ghz but that required 1.375v, extreme LLC and phase settings. That was only way I...
Hogan - I have a PRO and have been having cold boot issues. It seems that the board isn't detecting ram above 1333 correctly. Keep an eye on this before you pick it up. See link below for more info...
I think it was between $180-190 Bass - it's been a few days so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I do remember it not being much more expensive than the price at SuperBiiz.com. Frys didn't have many units on the shelf so I'd suggest calling them before driving down.
Fry's in Downer's Grove, IL had Asus P8P67 (regular, PRO & EVO) when I stopped by this afternoon. They also had 3 MSI P67 boards - their 45, 55 and 65.
Aigo - You are generalizing your response while my post was specific to the initial release version of 2500k/2600k chips.
Agreed - cooling matters. My point was I have yet to see anyone get these chips above 5.0ghz with any type of cooling that they tried. I don't want people to think water...
I've got my eye on the 2600k and have read/watched pretty much all previews. It appears the chip maxes out at 4.7-5.0ghz regardless of cooling. It may be a limitation with the SB chips or the early revisions of the motherboard bios.
From what I have seen thus far, cooling has minimal impact on SB. So make sure you do your research before plopping down $ on anything more than good air cooling for SB.
No problem. I have been scouring the net for 2600k oc reports and I thought I may have missed a few. The one concern I have about cranking it over 5.0ghz is the volts that will be needed to do so.
