I am looking to replace my onboard sound with a PCI sound card in the $35 or less range. I use headphones mostly - play games and explore the web. Want to relieve some of the cpu useage that the onboard sound takes.
Any suggestions for me ---- thanks.
I currently have a 2.4A Prescott in a ECS 848P-A Motherboard. I can overclock it to 3.0 but loose the onboard sound if I overclock past 2.6 --- want to change out the M/B to something better and get a PCI Soundcard.
Looking for suggestions on which M/B to go with. I have had Asus & Abit...
I have a PNY 6800nu - also just upgrades from a Geforce 3 TI200. My video worked good with the drives that came with the card - updated to the newest ones and had the same issue as you. Went back to the original drivers and worked good again.
Sound like a driver issue to me.
I have a 2.4E Prescott (533) and want to overclock it using stock cooling only. I need some help on choosing a motherboard.
Any suggestions? And if your overclocking a 2.4e what speeds are you getting?
Thanks in advance
I have the PNY 6800NU - neweg.com - $159

Go the cheapest route - put the extra money in your computer fund for the future.

Buy something like this and save the rest of the money for other upgrades.
