GTX970 won't boot on P8Z68V-Pro

You can return it, but first get the latest ubuntu on a thumb drive and boot it up and see if you can use the computer that way. If it boots to the bios, this should be tried before you send it back. Just download an ISO and then follow the instructions here...

I'll look that up too, I installed the beta driver and it cut down on the stuntedness but not fully. I'm confused! haha

Any ideas about this NVIDIA branded GTX 970 reference card? EDIT: Now for sale at BB.

I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously would be nice to get something with easier warranty service like EVGA but it will work.

How much do you think it's worth spending on cooling?

IMO, how much you want to spend on cooling is only really important once you get to a certain dollar range OR if you really care about noise. In other words, if you play with headphones on you should spend very little on cooling. I just prefer better performance after a certain point.

mini itx z97 options ?

I'd recommend just getting a splitter and having them run at the same speed, much better than getting a different board for a header.

That I know of there isn't a way to output 1440p. Why can't you stay on 1080p until you get the new gpu?

3do rendered some very good graphics especially for its day

I remember playing this game on the SEGA Saturn! What great game. I am also sad about the ubiquity. I think a couple factors caused the consoles to go to PC-like hardware. A lot of it probably has to do with the cheapness of ubuiquitous hardware AND it likely makes it much easier for...

Which Graphic Card should i buy ?

Though up front I think the 290 is a better deal, I would get a 970 just because then you won't have to get a new PSU, as long as the PSU is not old. If that is an old PSU I'd recommend getting a new PSU before putting the new card in. ANd in that case, you could likely get the 290 and the new...

Best ATI R9 280

Alternatively, you might look at used prices on 7950's in Japan. In the US, the prices all plumeted because of coin mining. They go for 100 dollars in the US and are essentially the same card as a 280. Unless you're looking to save on energy, don't get the 4690s. If you do want to saver...

Differentiate Reference and Non Reference Cards

Best way I've found is to google the card and whether people have water cooled it. Most have documented cases of people attempting to water cool or their dismay at not being able to.
