The problem with a lot of the old PCs, however, is that the CMOS generally doesn't support the *big* drives and updates are few and far between. Having said that, depending on how serious you are into the space - You could drop $300-400 and get a semi current system which will support the...
It does sound like some policies are being shoved down the clients throat. Do all computers in the lab behave like this? Check group policy management on the lab dc and see if it is the cause.
You could also try forcing the client to join the domain using NETDOM (should be part of the...
You could write a script that steps through the ip addresses I suppose, something like (please be aware I just made this up for example only... it won't actually do anything)
set ip=1
set n=255
:loop
psloggedon \\192.168.0.ip
if ip=n goto end
ip=ip+1
goto loop
:end

Fans and everything working ok on the card? Download something like 3dmark and run that through... check the temps on your card. I had a 9600xt card awhile ago that was doing similar things, turned out the fan was spinning -- just *much* slower than it should have been. Once I replaced the fan...
From the client PC try to ping both the SMTP and POP3 server names of the ISP.
Do you get a reply? or host not found message? Does DNS even resolve the IP address?
Start with this.
I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a game I enjoy. I played FEAR and the single player was good -- the MP I think is horrid. So I play BF2 for my multiplayer killing... I do like FPS.
Sort of hoping QuakeWars when it eventually comes out will bring some new joy to my nights /...
I've got a bit of a mystery on one of my servers that I can't quite peg -
hoping perhaps someone here might be able to help me figure out where my
space went on my server... or at least suggest something to check :)
Details:
Proliant 350
4 x 36gb drives in one RAID 5 array = ~108gb...
Hi gang,
I was looking at a friends pc the other day, it always locks up in guildwars between 10 - 60min of game play. I had a different video card around so I swapped it out to try just for fun. (removed all old ati drivers, installed new detonator - 6600gt).
Anyhow - same problem...
I've got to jump on the anti sbs bandwagon too -- though in it's defense I have heard it's got a bit better with this last release. If you don't need exchange or sql and for that matter don't like putting all your eggs in one basket, i would suggest just getting the generic server 2003 and I'd...
Also posted on the Veritas forum, but judging by the replies there - I thought I'd try my luck over at AT also.

Hi gents,
I have 3 BE servers running 9.1 4691 (sp4) and on one of them all backup append jobs fail after I do a restore from the tape.
The box is a Proliant ML370 G4 with...
If you're going to run this through in a lab, do it right. Get 2 PCs of any type and install server and exchange on each one and setup each as it's own domain. Moving mailboxes withing the same domain between exchange servers won't give you any idea of the issues you may encounter in the goal...
Windows updates don't load new services (excluding SP2) they update existing ones. That aside though, core os DLLs and updates will not slow down internet throughput on your PC.
For the OP to say that he is getting 500-600 on a fresh install and previously was getting 300 max is *not* due...
Personally my theory on this is that the belief that 'things just slow down over time' is BS. A properly kept computer should be as fast as it was on the day of purchase as it is a year later. Especially with any type of internet use...
If your throughput isn't as quick, it *will* be...
