I already own and use a Vive Pro 2 and a wireless adapter. I rather enjoy VR, whatever your feelings are about the companies that make VR headsets.

No, I hadn't forgotten. The 4 PCI-e lanes for the first nVME are actually dedicated lanes from the CPU. No overlap with anything else. The i9-11900k has 20 PCI-e lanes, not 16, and the 4 intended for nVME can't be configured as anything but a single 4-lane group. The PCI-e lanes are why you...

At present, the Vive wireless adapter doesn't work with AMD AM4/TR4 socket motherboards, so a Ryzen CPU is out of the question. While details are sparse, I'm guessing it's the gig Wifi board that's part of the package. I'll look into the cases you mentioned. I'm a little fuzzy on what...

Question Am I making any errors with this gaming build?

I'm thinking about ordering a new gaming PC. I occasionally use the PC for photo processing, and astrophotography post-processing, which is somewhat CPU intensive. I'd like to keep this under $3000. I can afford more, but I feel $3000 is probably well over the "decent return on investment"...

That's a fair point. You'd think they'd put 4G into the 9.7" Pro, since the earlier 12.9" version has 4G. But they don't.

I've been using an iPad 4 for gaming for 4+ years now, and while games always run, I've had issues. Mostly memory related, where games would abruptly stop because they ran out of RAM and the iPad didn't unload enough apps. Re-loading the game was almost always stable, but it was still annoying...

Lets talk Stellaris

I put about 12 hours in Stellaris before deciding it bored me silly. As a 4X game, it's extremely rudimentary. I can't speak to multiplayer because ultra-slow 4X games don't strike me as ideal for multiplayer. And believe me, it's slow compared to just about anything else I've played, Civ included.

If you've got a 5.1 setup, it's probably the center channel. I have these Logitech speakers that have a "matrix" button on them that's supposed to enhance stereo inputs to be kinda-sorta surround, but if it's pressed and the game has 5.1 sound, it kills the center speaker. A hardware or driver...

Looking into this further, there's no need for anecdotal accounts. The Settlement Software mod will mark spawn points for you. There are between 1 and 4 spawn points for each settlement, depending on the settlement. There's a video that uses the mod to point them out. He's done some amusing...

I don't think most of us have been anything like so systematic. My impression is that there's generally 2-3 spawn points, but I've never taken notes.
