Transcend USB memory stick: lifetime guarantee

Sent in my 16G USB memory card since it went kaput after 6mos of use. Could not format in windows or linux (gparted), that was 3 wks ago. Wrote to them and it was covered and gave me Return authorization number, but since than absolutely no response... any ideas? gychang

What OS do you use?

main machine xubuntu, guest PC and media PC has windows 7. On my old PC and laptop running crunchbang, and all connected with wireless home network and works well.

I am aware of Roku, which plays mainly netflix account, but I also need to stream from my home PC network setup (windows 7) wirelessly (e.g. patriot media player). Is there medial player that can do both? thanks, gychang

what is needed to use laptop with HDTV?

My old thinkpad is dying and like to get a laptop that can connect to my 50" HDTV (LCD) using HDMI so I can use the HDTV when at home sitting on a couch. Is this feasible and practical? Will the viewing quality be reasonable? Is there a laptop that will be ideal for around $600 price...

laptop to use with my 50" HDTV
