I actually referenced the benchmarksreviews article when applying the AS5. Two lines about half the length of the contact. Are you doing any kind of overclocking? I just have the E8500 at stock right now with those temps.

I just tried to boot the computer with one stick in B1 to no avail. The same situation occurred when I tried B2. I then put the stick back into A1 and it booted perfectly.

I upgraded my monitor and my text looks worse

I may be wrong on this, but doesn't enabling Clear Type make text look better? Right click on your Desktop > properties > Appearance > Effects > "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" > clear type. You could always check this to see if it makes your text look better.
