AMD X399 ！！！！！

Thats due to Bulldozer being garbage. There was an easy optimization due to using what they called "soft flip-flops" which are easier to implement but use more power. And Bulldozer could already clock at 5Ghz under water, it just used excessive power to do so. Zen hits a wall at 4.1Ghz.

Your Take on Ryzen? Worth buying or stick to Intel

Would like to see it tested in games with disabled SMT and 3000Mhz+ memory to see if it benefits. It looks worth it for anyone that doesn't just game but we'll see if anything fixes the poor gaming performance.

Why did AMD release bulldozer if they can still make good CPU's?

I think they already had a contract for the Titan supercomputer so they had to get something for it. They were led to believe Bulldozer was better than it ended up too.

8 core Zen should end up being a fairly small chip in the mid 1XXmm^2. If it doesn't have 256-bit datapaths for AVX, I wouldn't be surprised if it clocked at mid to high 3's. HW-E has a wide AVX implementation and is made with more connectivity, and it still gets above 3Ghz at 140W. I...

The GPU Vendor Bias Admission Thread

I was beginning to lean towards nvidia in 2014 with Maxwell, but then the GTX 970 incident killed it for me. Hardly put a dent in the sales if at all. Really want AMD to succeed with Zen and Polaris. Their current offerings are either mediocre or uncompetitive(GPUs or CPUs).

THe Sandia Cooler - Breakthrough in Air Cooling design

Should Intel ditch "Celeron", or does it serve a purpose?

I'd rather see Atom receive a big upgrade and have a quad minimum lineup. i9 for LGA 2011 equivalent. Everything below i3 becomes Atom. Remove Pentium and Celeron altogether.

What apu are they using?

The best part is the OLED screen. The worst part is the 1080p screen. Intel's 14nm fanless Core chips can barely play Dota 2 at 1366x768. They're basically stealing, unless you consider extra cinematic a frame-rate.

SMT performance is only about 30% better in cinebench. With 4 cores/4 threads that Skylake would be around 30k, which makes its score above 1500 per thread per Ghz.

Was brazos a bad product?

Compared to the trash that was Atom at the time, it was far better. If it ran Windows well enough, then it was at least ok. I don't consider Flash part of Windows. I agree with Shiva on many points. Brazos 80SP wasn't able to game and would be overkill for 2D, and having a full SOC would...
