Even with 450watt usage improving gold vs bronze is ~5% or 22 watts . If you use 4 hours a day save 90 watt = $0.01 so will take 6 years to recoup $20 price increase for medium usage but only 1 year for 24\7 use
I have always went one step up from bottom(say $70-80 vs $50-60) and stuck to medium overclocks and never had an issue. If you plan to upgrade before it dies resale on bottom end boards is often near zero where might recover the price difference on mid range board
vesa is the mount to attach it to a wall\ stand. DP is prob best , hdmi cables are likely the cheapest and likely included with monitor . What output does your video card have?
I got a 1070 used for ~200 a few months ago and can upgrade with savings in a year or so when prices come down. gtx970 still go for ~100-125 so depreciation should be limited on 1070 if history is consistent
I have had similar problem before with missing xmp entry and just manually entered speed\ timings ~half way between the two (2400 and 3000 in this case) and worked ok for me
