slower browsing

Personally I use Camino ? has adblock/pop-up blocking, built on the Mozilla codebase. Will try the speeding up browsing to see if it helps, though.

Watching TV on PC

Just got a Dazzle USB video adapter and I'm wondering what the best software would be for watching full-screen video? It came with Pinnacle Studio Center but that's not really cutting it. Any good alternatives to look into?

Dedicated OS "sub-version" or complete distribution for firewall?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a distro tailored specifically for sharing an internet connection? I'm looking for a firewall, dhcp server and bandwidth management (it's a fraternity, I needs to be able to keep speeds constant across the network so people can still get hw done w/ online...

Anyone own a Nokia 770 (the Internet tablet device running Linux)?

Any word on VPN? I can't seem to find a portable wifi device that supports VPN, which is a must for wireless on campus.

Is this the fault of the iPhone - With poll!

Again, why is it ONLY happening on Duke's network? You would think that it might happen somewhere else, and if it did it would be huge news (as the Duke story is) because it's about the iPhone. Read the /. comments for a more in-depth discussion, but I highly doubt a phone is sending out 18K...

Yeah, it's highly unlikely that only iPhones at Duke are the ones afflicted by this flaw, if it were a flaw in the iPhone. Chances are it's Duke's network.

Some rumors have the update pegged sometime Augustish, if not pushed back to Sept. Sane people see this date as pure craziness, since Leopard is dropping in November and Apple does need to at least maintain the illusion that they give a damn about their computers. DonVito's estimation is...

Bridge to Terabithia

It's a great movie, for precisely the reason that it's not Narnia. I heard a lot of people complaining that the movie should have had more CGI scenes of Terabithia but that would go against the point of the story: it's all about imagination. It's a story about growing up and dealing with things...

XP/Ubuntu dual boot on PC without floppy drive.

I just installed 7.10 on my laptop with XP normally and GRUB handled everything.
