A cpu doesn't run warmer or cooler on different motherboards. The motherboards just report different temperatures.

3* PCI-Express x16 Slots for WHAT???

I had a Jetway LX board back in the day, and it worked fine until I replaced it. Well, it might have had an issue with the tnt2 ultra that I had at the time, but I was still a total newbie at the time, so it might not have been the board.

K8T890 or NF4 ??

I also have an AX8 board, and if it weren't for the dual-core issue, it'd be the best motherboard I've ever had. It has not once crashed on me. And that includes Intel boards.

The AX8-V is missing Firewire and the extra disk controllers that the others have. The other two are the exact same, except for the gadget called "3rd Eye".

I see the same exact trend on my board, albeit at a lower speed and Vcore, and thus lower temps. I'm not entirely sure how precise the temps reported are, but I get the feeling they're quite a bit off. Under full load (using Folding@Home) gives me a temp of 54C, but upon opening Abit's EQ it...

Do I have to reinstall the OS after replacing the board?

It's "possible" but hardly recommended. It all depends on how different the replacement board is to the original. If you get a replacement that uses the same chipset, you will have much less trouble doing this than with a different one. Likewise, if you get the same exact kind of board...

You used to be able to see it in Sandra, but the latest version doesn't have it. The only "proof" I have of it being at 33mhz is within Abit's OCGuru, where it says "PCI Clock: Fixed (33mhz)". I'm 100% sure about this though, as the original reason I looked into this was because my hard...

One other thing: Those of you with this board, are you experiencing high, possibly wrong, cpu temps? At default, my 3200+ is showing around 53C under load, and goes up to 60C under load at 2.4ghz @ 1.475v. They're at 42C and 48C respectively when idling. Furthermore, when idling at 1000mhz...

I only just started experimenting with mine, and I'm running it at 240mhz (2.0ghz @ 2.4ghz) without any increase in voltage (apart from 0.05v for the cpu). I'm still experimenting with it, but so far there's been no sign of instability. The above would be at 960 HTT, btw.
