sharing internet connection problem !!!

Sounds like a potential driver/hardware issue where the card is getting unstable or making the system unstable. Try new drivers. Alternately, try a new NIC. You can find them for barely $10. Eric

Actually, what's in the guide does not really equate to what you want. You can't "combine" the connections to double the speed without some sort of outside proxy to re-combine the data, but you can set up applications to use them alternately. I find it useful to have both configured and...

Yes, that should work to bridge the connection, but like amdskip said, it might be better just to get an access point. Using Infrastructure mode is much more reliable and has more features than using 'peer-to-peer' ad-hoc networking. Eric BCSDenver - Denver Computer Support

I want to set up my first network, need a little help.

If you have high speed internet, I would recommend getting a small router with a built-in switch. This way, you have a router to play with and share your Internet and you have an expandable network that will work great for 2 computers and will let you add more. if you have a slimmer budget...

Anyone seen this cable? Maybe it's brand specific. I have a box full and I think they might have originally shipped with a Dell Precision workstation... but the machines I think they were with did not have any unusual hardware other than an nVidia Quadro4 video card and i don't think those...

How would I build a Lithium Ion battery charger?

Communication speed of wireless to wired signals? (eg mice)

First of all, I highly doubt there is a significant lag, second, the computer has NO IDEA whether the mouse is wired or wireless and therefore shouldn't have to bother with "decoding the signal". I am quite sure that the Radio Frequency wireless mice use a simple FSK (frequency shift key)...

Windows source code released on the Internet

Slashdot was reporting that a good bit of Windows source code was leaked onto the Internet a little while ago. Within 45 minutes, Slashdot was offline and is now inaccessable. I hadn't had a chance to read the article, but I sure would like to!! Anybody know more info? Eric

Dead Pixel Policy----Best Buy

10% of a decent LCD monitor is on the order of 192,000 pixels. Even 1% is rediculous. That's 19,200 pixels. Any more than a couple around the edges of the screen is bad. I'll tell ya what, we have about 600 19" Planar monitors at work and I'll be damned if I have seen more than 10 dead...
