I use Bootcamp for XP on my MBP. How did you guys install new drivers on your MBP? Did you uninstall them, go into safemode, and run drivercleaner, and then install? I tried that once and I had to restore because I had a critical hardware error. Do you guys just install without having to use...

The New and Improved "G80 Stuff"

I've been out of it here at this forum, but man... seeing a prototype graphic card like that makes me scared... imagine the loudness of the fan, or better yet imagine all the strain a video card that big will put on your pcie slot and mobo in general... geez... I hope the 8600GT or whatever are...

7600GS or 7800GS?

15fps is ridonkulously bad man... Just get the 7800GS since your outlook for upgrading is in about 2 years. Conroe prices would have gone down by then as well as mobos, vid cards, etc. Also, I take it you're not the person to want to splurge so much money to get the best when it comes out...

MSI GeForce 6600GT

this seems to be a reoccuring problem with MSI 6600GT cards... all I can say is "BAD MSI! BAD!" for not issuing fine quality control standards.

Upgraqding AGP card for Quake 4

Go with the 6800nu as mentioned above. SM3, decent core & mem speeds, it'll last you till you upgrade later in the year. I got a 6800 and unlocked the extra 4 pipes and pixel shader and it increased my framerates marginally.

XFX 6800nu High Temps?

It was a driver issue. I had the same problem with the 61.72 drivers but updated to 81.98s and the problem disappeared.

I was looking at ASRock's DUAL SATA2 mobo, with its AGP and PCIe slots. However, what is a good CPU/memory combo with this board? And to be specific, I mean brand memory and what model AMD CPU. I was looking at going wit ha budget cpu of +3200 with 2 gigs of DDR400 ram or +3700 with 1 gig...

It seems 1 GB isn't cutting it for me anymore. BF2, in all its buggyness, is a memory hog... at least IMO, but I love the game and would like to have it run smoothly. So: Would 2 gb of PC3200 ram make the gameplay a lot smoother? Because everytime I enter a map it takes like 5 minutes for...

uh oh... I recently installed an NV Silencer 5 as well but aren't experiencing those problems... perhaps you needa reapply thermal compound? I dunno.
