AB350M Pro4 freezing pc

Had the exact same issue with the same board, apparently they had a bad batch or something but not much can be done other than a new board.

Try uninstalling the device from device manager and hopefully when you reboot it will place it into PIO mode. If that doesn't work, you could reinstall your IDE controller drivers. Sometimes it can be somewhat tricky to get it to change to the correct settings. You may just have to play...

I'd look and see if any of your drives are set to PIO mode. Go to Device manager and look at everything under IDE/ATA Atapi Controllers. If anything in the "Advanced Settings" tab says "PIO" you need to change it to use UDMA.

How is AMD better than INTEL in games?

Don't get a 4000+ now, just go for the dual core now. There are already games that support dual cores, and there's no reason to wait IMHO.

440bx 133mhz bus mod

This is going way back, but IIRC you need to modify something to get a coppermine P3 to run on a BX board. I think I remember people using socket adapters or rewiring the socket itself. In any case, I know it wasn't as simple as plugging in a P3 and it firing right up.

Safe voltage for a venice 3200+ with stock cooling?

My 3200+ that I bought from somebody here on the forums does 2.6ghz w/ stock voltage. I doubt you'll need to overvolt it too much to get good results.

I use a program called centrino hardware control to lower my cpu voltages (pentium M 1.5ghz). I believe I have it to .7v @600mhz and .95v@ 1500mhz stable. I get about 30 mins of extra battery out of it (even more if the cpu is at full load) and it runs a heck of a lot cooler (cpu fan never...

It's fine as long as it's stable. If you notice instability you could try raising it a tad. The Winchester's seem to do pretty good on default voltage though. Mine (3000+) does 2.4ghz at 1.4v, but won't do 2.5ghz until about 1.55v.

P4-M 725 1.6ghz vs P4 2.8ghz

I like my 600m, and it will run AOM pretty decently. I was playing HL2 on it the other day, and it ran it pretty good at 1024x768. I have a 1.5ghz P-M in mine, and it's fast enough for my purposes. I wouldn't touch any P4 in a laptop myself, there is a reason why they're discontinuing them...

Problem with A64 3000 o/c & Msi neo2 plat.

I had problems with the same thing as well. I realized that using mem dividers also changes memory timings that are not accessible in the bios (set the mem freq to 100mhz, and then to 200mhz and use A64 tweaker to verify this.) I fixed this by setting it to boot at 100mhz mem freq and then...

The Prime 95 fallacy

This is the way I look at it... A CPU is used for calculating, that's why you bought it. If Prime95 (or any properly written program for that matter) is failing, then the CPU isn't properly calculating. If it isn't properly calculating then what use is it? Running 8MB Spreadsheets on a CPU...

To all MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum owners: Is the a PCI Lock on this board?

Maybe they were using SATA port 1 or 2. You must use 3 or 4. 1 + 2 are not locked.

MSI Neo2 Platnum - strange overclocking results..

I'm using AGP of 67 on SATA port 3. Alphafox: I believe that your Corsair uses the same chips that my HyperX uses (CH-5), so it must be some compatibility problem. The strange thing is that I'm priming (at 12 hours so far) at 277FSB with the 166fsb divider. It just won't boot at these...

It seems like it's just a problem getting it to boot. When I boot it up at standard clocks and use clockgen to raise the FSB I can hit over 270 at 5:4 (or whatever 166 corresponds to).
