Silent PC Review calls Thermalright u-120 extreme

I got my new PC this weekend, and I can confirm that with the Rev 2.0 of the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 that you CAN use this heatsink. So all of the newer revision boards with this general design should be fine, whereas the older ones are the only ones that are bad.

How on earth would this work?!

That was actually my first thought when I saw this story a while ago, the weight I mean. Not the same thing as the space elevator though dkozloski, as the elevator is supported by orbiting FROM space. It isn't actually a tether, but more like a rope held up from above. A theoretically...

I am wanting to build a new system with Q6600 have a ati aiw 9800 card

It sounds like he wants to build a HTPC, which I think www.avsforum.com (sub-forum http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=26/ ) is the best place to start. 9800 seems pretty underpowered, even for moderately basic stuff these days though. I'd say to get a 2600HD if you're not...

Interesting that the Gigabyte boards with the good passive cooling are incompatible with this cooler. I wonder if the new Rev 2.0 versions of many of the boards will be OK with this cooler, or if they're flawed as well?

P35 MB: Gigabyte P35-DS4 or ASUS P5K-E/WiFi?

The problem I've seen with most/all of the Asus boards is that with long video cards (8800 GTX) I'm pretty sure that you lose 2 SATA ports right away due to the card covering them. This is mentioned in almost all reviews of the ASUS boards. I'm personally waiting for a DS4 myself. I'm sold...

Is it possible to set 'Details' as the default view in XP?

Before clicking that, under that same view tab, scroll down an ensure that "Remember each folder's view settings" is clicked as well, or it might not "take" and you'll still come up wrong.

Looking for a near silent case.

Thanks for the endorsements of the P182 w/ the GA-P35-DS3P and Corsair HX 620W I was wanting to buy. jmmtn4aj's picture is an especially great endorsement (no question that it works, assuming 520 & 620 are the same dimensions, which according to spec they are). Though I've got a conundrum...

Not exactly true. It's even in the "Vista performance tweaks" thread (or whatever the title is, it's stickied) over on the OS sub-forum here to put your pagefile (swap file, same thing) onto a different physical drive to improve performance. So it's there, it just doesn't require its own...

I am SO confused about headphones...
