I was getting random crashes when running at 4x FSB so just just rolled everything back a bit.
Which do you think would be the better set up? 4x FSB230 or 3x FSB240.
Memory wise I have hard coded the t1 setitng and left everthing else at auto.

I actually have almost the exact same setup.
Im currently running 1004.1
HT 3x
Mem 333
FSB 230
And am 100% stable. Im going to try 240 sometime after the weekend.
Im running 1004.001 and can still see my drive. So far the only revisions that have seen the drive were 1002 and 1004.001
Anything 1003.00x looses the drive everytime.

I've been having the exact same issues. Luckly I have a stand by IDE drive that i boot to when the SATA disapears.
Oddly I upgraded to 1004.1 using my IDE drive the other day and pu my SATA back in for s@#ts and giggles.
Its been working....
I'm going to try and do some OC tonight...
I'm having the same issue. I loose my Maxtor when running any bios besides 1002. I think this is a known issues as i've seen the problem in most of the other troble shooting threads as well. from what i understand 1004 is to be released thursday.
Will try that. =)
Word. The specs above are pretty much the low end of a decient overclock. And yes , im sure its not OC related because when i flash back to 1002 it works fine.
Anyone else running a Maxtor dirve have this problem?
1003 Final is still a no go for me.
Upgraded the BIOS.
Rebooted. All was good.
Powered off the computer. Powered on the computer. All was good.
Played Wow. All was good.
Powered off the PC and went to bed. All was good.
Turned on the PC in the morning ... same crap as beta...
OC update. Even though im stuck with 1002 im still able to get pretty good a pretty good oc and very stable.
I did have the fsb running at 400 but the NvMonitor showed the mem as "red" so i backed if off a bit.
3500+
fsb @ 390
cpu clock @ 2585
HT @ 4x

I've still not lost my maxtor with 1003.008 and 4 hours of aggressive overclocking/crashing/hanging/rebooting. I think the maxtor detection problem may well be fixed, I'm not willing to test for NCQ though, leave that off.
I flashed the bios to 1003-008 everytihing worked fine until i...
ok, so i get home today. And system locks up as it loads windows. How do i know if NCQ is enabled AND how do i disable it. Ive seen a few people post that theyve done this ... HOW.
Thanks!!!

Diamondmax 10, one thing i did notice even after flashing the bios it didn't post after the flash. Unplugging and resetting the BIOS after each bios change seemed to help.

Just an update. I rolled back to 1002 and everything came back, HD marvell NIC ect, and i can boot from the maxtor again. So basicly if your having issues you may waqnt to consider sticking or rolling back to. It seems the most "issue free" bios release.
