So, it seems to me that PhysX started out as a bit of useless technology, not because the tech itself wasn't any good...but because of the lack of support. I read tons of reviews back then concerning the BGX PhysX add-in board, and recall being very underwhelmed.

That cable is similar to the one I use. I paid about $12 for a Link Depot branded one from newegg. Interesting opinion on the Westy, it seems to me that many people still prefer it...maybe it's just because they are bias? Good luck!
You are correct, but in that config, I was only at 3.2GHz.
Check out the photos from six posts up, and you'll see my current config which is stable up to 3.85GHz.
If you feel comfortable removing the motherboard, I think you could handle the rest. It's not too hard.
BTW - if I crank the fan up to full speed (1900RPM) I can run the CPU stable at 3.85GHz with 1.575V. I prefer not to push it that hard (and the fan is a bit noisy at full tilt) in the...
Thanks for all the comments you guys. I've really been enjoying it, and I'm glad I didn't compromise by getting a 24" or something like that. This is the best computer upgrade I've ever made.
I use a Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme with a Scythe Slipstream fan @ 1000RPM...
My viewing distance has increased to 3 1/2 feet and IMHO it is PERFECT!!! I can still read all the text on the web without straining. I wish I would have mounted it about 3 inches lower, but mounted at an angle compensates.
Just wanted to post a quick update...I cleaned up my office a bit and mounted my monitor on the wall. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, and I'm very happy with the results!

Not to worry, the board is rock stable...a "false positive" means that the program (memtest86+ v1.7 in this case) is erroneously reporting problems that really don't exist.
This post was just an FYI for the community.
What's up? Just wanted to give a quick update...I rearranged my office and rebuilt my machine with a quad core...very happy with that. Here are some more pics of my setup:
