Looks like choosing a good RTX 2060 is not that easy as I imagined. I spent some time trying to see which is a good option and found several issues:
- MSI Ventus - has some annoying sound issues, as mentioned here also
- Gigabyte RTX 2060 Windforce OC - a lot of people having fan rattling and...
Thanks guys for the comments!
I will need to see does the market here in the europe / nordics react as much as it does in the states. Currently the lowest prices here are:
349€ ($395) Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti WINDFORCE OC
349€ ($395) ASUS ROG Strix RX Vega 56 OC Gaming 8GB
383€ ($434)...
Cool I completely missed that there is a 1660ti coming out. Will definitely check how it's going to be priced and how it compares to the RTX 2060 performance and money-wise.
Sorry had a typo there, my machine is a 2600K which is overclocked to 4.2GHz. Yes got an RTX 2070 from a friend but have...
I was going to upgrade my i7 2600K home PC with a Ryzen build but decided to wait for the next generation CPU's to be released. After a long pause, I got back into gaming and have been playing Battlefield V and also got an coupon for the upcoming Division2 which I also look forward to.
My...
I'm new to the Ryzen world and did not even know that Ryzen Master had a test :)
My Powers Package (according to HWMonitor) shows:
With Prime95: 110 - 140 W (Max temp 73c)
With Ryzen Master test: ~105 W (Max temp 60c)
Thanks DrMrLordX!
I bought Arctic Cooling MX-4 paste, isopropyl to clean the CPU and already reinstalled the cooler.
Now the temperatures are:
Bios 44c
HWMonitor idle low 35c (for some reason it still keeps pumping between 35-45c)
HWMonitor load high 73c
Not sure if I 100% nailed applying the...
Yeah I think so too. I'll go and buy some better thermal paste and reinstall the cooler tomorrow. I've never had to redo it before so at least I need to learn how to clean the old paste and maybe check some tutorial on what's the best way to apply the paste.
From those attached HWinfo screens I can see that all the fans do spin faster when the CPU is under load (CPU fan 750rpm -> 1250rpm).
The fans are connected to the X-470F and I haven't changed the settings for fans yet.
I can try to change the settings, but even with those RPM's it seems very...
I finally got my Ryzen 2700X rig built but I'm worried about the temperatures that seem very high!
In bios the CPU temp seems to variate all the time between 44-52c. HWMonitor shows idle temperature around ~40c but when I tried Prime95 it reached 80c!
I got a rather big Thermalright Macho...
As the 64GB is starting to sound more and more like a bad idea, I'll try to ask around in Asus forum what 32GB kit people have used with the X470-F and what speeds they run.
I assume that it would be safer to use 2 x 16GB modules rather than 4 x 8GB?
I had no idea choosing memory would still...
Yeah I have the rest of the system built here and noticed that the fan of Thermalright Macho Rev.B will block the first slot just barely and but the edge of the fan housing could be cut just a bit to use all the four slots.
If I go with the 2x16GB, they will fit easily as the nearest slot to...
Thanks!
I spent few hours checking availability of every shop out here. All the decently priced 64GB kit's have over two week availability, these 32GB kit's were available the best:
G.Skill Ripjaws V K2 DDR4-3200 CL16 - (2 x 16GB) 254,40 € (AVAILABLE NOW)
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 BK...
Thanks for the advice! What 32GB kit would you pick at this point? I'm getting really confused which brand uses better chips and what would work the best with the Ryzen and this specific mobo.
Yeah the availability seems to be really terrible at the moment. I think I might end up going with 2x16gb (32GB kit). Funnily enough I saw a returned 2x16gb corsair lpx 3000mhz kit for half price at the local shop but did not buy it as my 64gb kit was supposed to come the next day...
Okay this might be all my stupidity, but I did not realize that I had to switch from "Balanced" to "High performance" power plan, even when I had the "Turn off the hard disks after.." enabled on the Balanced mode!
Now with the High Performance enabled (with the exact same settings as in...
