I did a few more tests. I did the power supply paper clip test, the fan kept running everything seemed fine, except when i put my ear to the psu i could hear a very soft clicking sound. Then i took the psu and mobo out of the case disconnected everything from the mobo except the cpu and...

OK, thanks. I also unplugged everything except the cpu, and psu. Still the same issue. So would it be a faulty PSU or not enough power to the components? I was pretty damn sure a Seasonic 430watt psu would be enough for this. Also the high pitched whine was only present when the 8800gts was...

This is my first build so please bear with me: The problem is that when I hit the power switch the computer will start for like 2 seconds then power off, then on again, then off, then on, then off, etc... All fans spin, and the hd and power leds came on then it just shutsdown, then it tries...

If the 230-250 range (hopefully thats the launch price) is accurate this may well be worth holding out for. I've been looking for a motherboard that will last me 3-5 years with processor/video/memory upgrades along the way, and of course 2 16x pci-e slots for crossfire. Will it have PCI-E 2 slots?

I got one today here from Target in Irvine, CA. I was 30 in line, (got there around 6:40). They had only limited amount of games and no controllers. They were handing out tickets and they are now sold out, there was probably around 100-150 consoles. No bundled crap, just the console plain...

So in theory matched pairs will work in dual channel, even if they are two different matched pairs occupying 4 slots? For example a Corsair 2x1gb 800mhz in the right slots along side say a Patriot 2x1gb 1000mhz in the correct slots, will mean essentially 2 different matched pairs but both...

Any idea if that would work on a Gigabyte S3? I always thought dual channel only worked with 2 slots no matter if all 4 slots were the exact same memory. But your saying they dont need to be, just need to be matched in pairs. Can anyone confirm this.
