I got one and had to return it becuase it was too bright in a dark room and no adjustment could keep it from hurting our eyes. Be aware this thing comes with a very bright monitor.
You can get a A8N asus 939 AMD mother board for $50 used, a used AMD 3200+ for $90, a 7600 gt for $120. Then you can use your ddr ram. This type of solution is better then a 7800gs card i think

A couple of reasons I use 144 hz refresh rate on my CRT. Becuase my favorite video games send about 150 frames per second to the monitor, and I like to see them all. I also find the high refresh rates make things in motion look very "real". Once again we descend into opinion.

I hate to buck the trend but I had an LCD and am going back to CRT.
ATI video cards have poorer drives the Nvdia cars. Hence I suggest the Nvidia cards if only for the easy to use drivers and Display porperties niceties.

The 144 hz refresh rate on this crt is the only thing so far that allows me to spend long times in front of the computer without problems.
Most CRTs dont support such high refresh rates except at low resolutions like 800x 600.
Thanks for your help guys. I took my new gateway FPD2185W back to BB, and I was very disapointed to turn it back in. It played games perfectly and was a super flatpanel.
So I am back to my Hitachi Superscan Elite 751 CRT. I run it at 800 x 600 at 144 hz.
So now I will take my time and see...
