New card for older system

Been out of the loop for a while as you can see by my setup and am a bit lost. Currently running a Q6600 @ 3.2, 7800 GT CO, Asus P5K-E, 8 gb ram, 650w ps, 24" monitor. I'm looking for something that can run newer games along with some photo editing under $200 if possible. Should I get 1 gb or 2...

Q6600 multiplier keeps changing by itself

I just got a Q6600 and a P5K-E put together and noticed that the multiplier keeps changing from 6X at 1600mhz to 9X at 2400mhz.It's mostly at 1600mhz. How do I make it stay at it's stock speed?

Any idea on how many amps I would need for this system? I used the Antec psu calculator and it says I need 835W!

Is my power supply enough?

I have a Sonata II with stock Antec SP450 psu which has 15/17A on the 12V rails. I currenty have a P5K-Deluxe, Q6600, 7800 GT/KO, 4 hd and 2 dvd drives. I do plan to oc. Would this psu be enough or do I have to upgrade? Thanks.

Holy crap, what a coincedence. Anyway I see your running your Firestix pretty much stock? I think 850-900mhz with the Patriots is more than enough for my Q6600 as that would put it in the 3.6ghz range and I'd be lucky to get that. So I guess there's no advantage with going to 4x1 sticks since...

I just bought an HP system similiar to the one your looking at for $600. Opened it up and its basically all off the shelf parts. MSI board, Seagate hd etc.To build it would have cost me $1100Can. Threw in a 7800GT and it works great. Saved $500 and no compatability/set-up headaches. Unless your...

I just added a 7800GT CO to my stock HP system. My psu is a Hipro 300W 19A. My specs are A64 3500, 2 optical drives, 1 hd. Is it safe to use this psu? I've read on forums that the 7800 needs 450W but it seems fine on my system. I just dont want to smoke coming out of my pc. Can i keep this psu...
