To reiterate what others have said, any monitor bought through the Smart Buy program is *not* a refurb. If someone bought one & received a unit that was less than 100% brand new was either the victim of a misleading merchant or not paying enough attention to the item description. HP has promo...

Don't know if it interests you or not, but Dell has the U2311H on sale again for $239 till the end of the month. Supposedly uses the exact same panel the NEC you are looking at does.

The reason for the discrepancy, as I understand it, is that when HP releases new products in its business line (and the ZR24w is a business line monitor), they release it under their Smart Buy program which gives the product promo pricing. Not all merchants qualify to participate in the Smart...

I know this reply is a little late in coming, but I'm going to reply anyway on the off-chance you have not bought a new monitor yet. If you miss the days of CRTS, especially Trinitron/Diamondtron displays, you deserve to check out what an IPS display will look like. Response times & input lag...

The U2410 is killer *if* one wants a wide-gamut monitor. A lot of people do, but a lot of people like me don't. In the realm of standard gamut monitors the HP zr24w is your only 24" 16:10 monitor choice with an IPS panel for less than $1,000.

I'm glad you liked it. I'd have felt bad recommending it to you if you had gotten a faulty unit. Well, those are 100% digital connections while the VGA connection is analog. For the last 5+ years I was using a VGA connection with a CRT & now my monitor connection is DisplayPort. While I'm sure...

What I did was bought one from the Buy.com store/presence on eBay. The price was $405.99 with free shipping, but buying it through eBay/Pal allowed me to line up a string of modest stacking discounts: 8% Bing CashBack, 1% FatWallet Cash Back, 2% cash back on my credit card, and $8.xx in eBay...

Tell me about it. Reading all the user reviews around the net I was almost convinced it was impossible to get a perfect unit. There are people who bought the ZR24W at launch still playing the exchange game with HP because of backlight bleed & dead pixels. It's even worse in the Dell U2410 camp...
