Whoaahh
This is just insane from AMD. They are pushing so hard.... cmon you just showed and will release 3000 soon... yet zen 3 is already making his way out for 2020.
I love they of X570 pretty much what everyone excpect
40 PCIE 4.0 lanes
All extra features
no redacted with redacted VRMs.
Or...
Hopefully :
4C/8T below 140$
6C/12T below 260$
8C/16T below 420$
~ Clocks for TDP to around ~4GHz (8C/16T)
~ OC clock all core ~4.9GHz
IPC 10% above intel
Lower DRAM latencies
IF2 has its own clock - OC above 3GHz
IMC = same efficiency + support for 4500MHz DDR4.
If 4C/8T will OC well and...
There will be no APU chiplets on AM4. Where first chiplet APU will arrive are consoles.
Big deal for console... All you need to do is I/O + 4C/8T with iGPU (shared LLC + no I/O) on board or maybe cpu + Gpu separated dies.
current XBOX has 359mm^2 16nm ~ 14nm (remember R7 1800X has 213mm^2 + RX...
I am very curious about I/O, particulary IF2 speed and memory latency. AMD kniws that whole internet was talking about high memory latency... I think they fixed it.
True that.
Everythink is leak until AMD officialy confirms it. About the frequency we can expect that ZEN2 IPC is higher than ZEN+. People are getting 2kp in CB R15 with 4,4GHz with R7 2700x.
Is core perf. big problem with ryzen? NO
Is CCX architecture a problem? NO
Is IF speed a problem...
Let me correct my self. ES sample did not run at 4,5GHz all core. If it did then IPC = ZEN+
It had to run between 4-4.2GHz unless they even improved IPV even further
Well I do too. I play MMO where CPu is quite big thing in some scenarios... Well ryzen does great job against my old CPU, I enjoy it a lot. Anyway when I build PCs then FPS do matter to me, cause every one wants to know what he is buying.
How every I don't like to build PCs with Intel CPUs...
Then i don't see a problem with 16C... I mean we have plenty of headroom for more W. Even if AVX512 uses 40% more power ~ 90W for CPu die x2 = ~ 180W + 55W +10W for I/O
If I/O is low latency (high freq) then probably it will use more power ~20W which means 55W for CPU * 1,4 for AVX 512 = 77W *...
