Aaaah, reboot the cable modem. Why didn't I think of that. So easy yet overlooked. I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight, thanks. I do that by just turning the modem on and off right? I checked the BIOS and it said Lan Enabled. If I can get the onboard integrated Ethernet Gigabit...
After much investigating it turns out I guess I was reading the wrong Thermaltake temp gage. The 140 represents when the alarm will sound. Under the 140 there was another temperature reporting which was 102. The BIOS reported 99.5 under load, 80 idle. The thing I don't understand is since...
I've been mainly using the computer for games so I guess that's a load temp. It's been very stable, although I just built it yesterday and I've only used it for about 3 hours. It's got a stock fan that came with the CPU. I'm wondering if maybe my temperature sensor got caught between my...
I just built a new computer with the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe and I couldn't access the internet through the port on the motherboard but I could when I used my Linksys add in card in a PCI slot. Shouldn't I be able to connect to broadband high speed cable (ATT/Comcast) by just the motherboards...
Can someone tell me the normal temperature for a non overclocked 2.6 ghz P4? I'm getting a reading of 140 F. which seems kind of high. My temperature sensor is taped to the bottom of the heatsink as close to the actual CPU as I could get.
I just got a new 2.6 GHZ P4 and there is real thick black tape on the bottom of the Heatsink instead of the usual paste. The black tape is not sticky and appears to be about 1mm thick. Am I supposed to peel off a layer of the tape to reveal a sticky compound?
I plan on Overclocking so...
I didn't know that the warrenty covers parts that were abused, like cracked glass. I would get the warrenty if it was for a college student. They are like young drivers, too reckless. Even though the laptop is carried around in a good computer shoulder bag, you still have to be very...
Two years ago CompUSA wanted $200.00 for an additional two years on my Compaq laptop that cost me $1200.00 I passed on it. I have had one problem with my laptop that cost me $150.00 to get fixed so I guess I'm ahead $50.00 - but there is still a year left I would have been covered for and I am...
Maybe the adapter blinks when the battery needs to be replaced. What kind of laptop do you have? Try taking the battery out and see if the blinking goes away. Does the blinking occur only when the laptop is booted up?
Maybe the power supply has a connection that keeps getting jostled loose during the moves. My first step would be replacing the power supply, but hey, that's just me.
