Desktop computer doing some weird sh*t (turns on/off/on/off)

Ugh, I guess it's time to stop being lazy and put in some real effort (was hoping for an easy fix). I may pull out the sledgehammer to add to the intimidation factor. I rewatched Office Space recently, so I'm familiar with the proper disposal method for faulty equipment.

Thanks for the input mech. I tried the screwdriver trick and plugging it directly to the wall (tried that earlier), and it does the same thing. Does it take more than 520W to run a rig like mine? If so, what wattage would you suggest?

svchost takes up all my resources!! need some help

Thanks for the resonses guys! I browsed around on google some more and tried some guy's tip. He said to search for all svchost files and to delete all of the ones outside the system32 folder. I tried that, and now my laptop runs fine on the first bootup! It doesn't really make sense to me why...

svchost takes up all my resources!! need some help

Whenever I start up my laptop for the first time after properly shutting it down, svchost always takes up ~99-100% of my system resources (which makes the laptop SLOOOOOW!) Since I can't shut down the laptop when it's in this condition, I always have to hold the power button until it turns off...
