My new PC HATES XP SP2. Any suggestions?

Slipstream....then you don't have to re-download SP2 each time. EDIT: And it 'feels' quicker.

iDUnno.. I think it's a bunch of B.S. I mean... take the web-serving section.. how does OS X score THE SAME as WinXP pro? I'm pretty sure there ISN'T a built-in web server in XP Pro (unless I just can't find it...) - with OS X you just check the box, and it works!!! PHP/mysql, and...

Looking for new PDA...need recommendations

I'm looking to get a new PDA, as I broke mine, and new screens cost about $120... So I'm trying to find a really really SLIM and convenient PDA - I don't need a 400Mhz XScale, or anything fancy - all I use the palm for is a looot of scheduling and phone numbers... pretty much a 'digital...

are SATA hard drives that much better than ATA drives?

The only real advantage I could see is that all my PATA slots are filled, so I need to start buying SATA drives ;)

Will a low refresh rate damage your eyes?

Personally, my optimitrist says that the only 'adverse' effects from looking at the computer screen is that the muscles in your eyes get really 'tight' from staring at something so close for so long. The same thing happens if you read a lot of books, though... ;-)

*FIXED* I ended up booting in safe mode and deleting all the USB hosts... so they had to re-init on boot.

yeah... I tried plugging into all the USB ports. It's just a generic dell mouse, so I figure it uses the normal MS drivers. I'm going to go into safe mode and 're-init' all of the USB controller drivers... see if that works.

SP2 kills USB mouse

I was repairing an SP2 system with a XPPro disc, and everything was going just fine.. Then I upgraded to SP2, and the mouse stopped working. It's powered (lit up and functioning) just fine BEFORE I get into windows. Once I get to windows, the device shuts off and (obviously) won't work...

WTF stupid......

Mmkay... Remove everything but the CPU, RAM, and Video card (from the mobo AND the PSU), and clear the CMOS. If he STILL can't get into the bios, something's seriously f*cked up... but I don't see how a POS power supply OR an additional IDE drive (or six) could trash your mobo/proc, if...
