Yes, I think this is where the conflict comes from. Hardwareluxx is saying there isn't going to be a 10nm S-series chip. Intel is saying there will be *something* for "desktop" on 10nm - which could be anything from a NUC using the same SoC as laptops, to a 10nm Atom product, to a 10nm HEDT...

AMD's graphics division really, really needs to stop overvolting all of their cards by default. All the expertise they've built up in the CPU division about maximizing the efficiency of their products has been completely ignored on the GPU side.

I/O doesn't scale well, so the 7nm GPU is going to have a larger percentage of the die devoted to it than on 14nm. That's why AMD went with 14nm for Zen 2's I/O die.

There has never been a single time when AMD's launch drivers for a GPU resulted in a substantial improvement over leaked benchmarks. People held out the same hopes for Fiji, Polaris, and Vega - all to no avail.
