Windows 2000

Win2k Pro is a favorite of mine. I love it and I'm used to it. Kinda like old, worn but comfortable slippers you just can't resolve to throw away. Had it installed on my first serious machine (Duron 850, dual boot 98SE for gaming) a while back. Still using it on my 3 PCs (main, server, HTPC)...

Is there a way to give my PC a static IP address on my LAN?

Yup, DD-WRT has this feature, I actually installed it last weekend (this feature was one of the main reason). :D So far I think it's a good firmware.

Computer can't reach the internet

Thank you guys! I found out what the trouble was. Last night I was trying some tricks to get it working, I turned off the anti-virus (Kaspersky Internet Security)... Turns out this was the culprit who was blocking all the internet traffic. I resetted the connection rules and it seems to work so...

Stupid jokes that make you laugh anyway

Whenever I happen to go in a public restroom with a guy friend, if we happen to be urinal neighbors, I say: "Hey dude, that's a nice watch you're wearing!" (while looking up in front of me, though. ;) ) Funnier in a crowded restroom. :D

I work weekdays 0:20 - 7:30, but I totally change my sleeping habits for the weekend in order to synchronize myself to "normal" people. When my week's over (Friday morning), I usually don't sleep until Friday night (though I'm going to bed quite early) if I don't have anything planned after...

Need help on buying hardware from US to Canada

It sure is fun to lower the package's value to save some taxes, but you're screwed if an insured item gets lost/damaged... ;) I wouldn't like having a <20$ refund for a 200$ video card that didn't make it. Depending on the item, I sometimes ask the seller to write up the full value on the package.

My arm skin is infected... *pics*

Seems gone now. Wrist is back at normal proportions - swelling is gone. So is the redness. Only thing left is the dry flaky skin around the wrist, but it's "peeling" now, kinda like a sunburn. It hasn't itched at all today. :D I'll see the doc tomorrow morning in order to get my tube removed.

Luckily, I'm not a drinker (well, it's very rare) nor a smoker. On the negative side, I'm the semi-lazy type and hate most of veggies. I'm more into fruits though. :D Nitrile gloves, uh? That's what I use at work sometimes, I know some employees got a kind of skin reaction with those...

Yeah, I saw the leg thread... That's some serious state to be in. Allergies to the cream? Maybe, I haven't seen it this way yet. As for a part-time friend, I already have full-time one, and sometimes, it's enough. :D

Well, I just saw the doc, the infection (redness) looks under control, but I'm still under IV for 2 more days. :( But the tube's now on top of my arm instead of on my wrist, I gained some hand/finger mobility here. I should be able to test out the BF2 demo today. :D The flaky white skin area...

Thanks all for the support, as well as the comments... Some actually made me laugh. It is. I hope too! Yeah, when it itches so bad, I'd love to sometimes. Dunno where it comes from, though I have some guesses. Chemicals from work, or an ivy plant (not the poisonous kind, mind you)...
