On a serious note are games going to use more cores

I would agree with this assessment. With low end i3's and Ryzen 3's being quads now and affordable hexa-cores being available, I would hope that multi-threaded optimization gets more of a boost.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56 Reviews [*UPDATED* Aug 28]

I'll be interested to see the aftermarket Vega 56 reviews when they show up. I actually think it is a fairly compelling part at $399 as the performance appears to generally out perform a 1070 and the power consumption is more acceptable than the 64. For someone like me that has a 1440p...

Are you using (or planning to use) Crossfire or SLI?

I am done with multi card setups until something magic happens to fix all the problems. Ran crossfire with 5850's, 6870's, 7950's and 290's and SLI with 780's and 970's. Performance is too dependent on drivers, often only mediocre scaling, tons of heat. Now I would rather spend the extra and...

Vega/Navi Rumors (Updated)

I would say no, at least not if they hope to sell in any real volume. They should be able to, but the at price and performance parity, Nvidia will still get a lions share of the market because of perception. AMD will need to offer obvious performance advantage to charge the same for most users...

Who's buying Skylake-X? (You may now change your vote)

Pretty sure the next rig I build will be Ryzen. My 5820k has served me well, but if a 12-16 core Ryzen cpu pops up then I'll be going that route.

Yeah got mine last week. Great card. I was not able to get a ton more adding voltage, but there was for sure some more to be had.

MSI 1070 Gaming X - cant unlock voltage control?

I think the latest beta version of Afterburner should have voltage control for you. I have the MSI 1070 Gaming (non X) and the core voltage slider is unlocked.

[MarketWatch] AMD's stock has best day in 40 years

I am hopeful for AMD, there is a lot of potential of course, but who knows how everything will shake out. The market seems to be in a weird transition stage. But in the meantime, my shares are up almost 110% since I purchased them less than three months ago. Makes me wish I had invested a few...

My Gigabyte R9 390 Overclock

Moey, you might want to even try moderate overclocking and undervolting. I have my XFX 390 set to 1100/1625 with -20mv.

New (2016) Vizio P series announced

I have been thinking of moving onto 4k from my Panasonic ST50 55" which will end up in the game room replacing a decade old 1080p Samsung 46". I'll be looking out for reviews of these new Vizio's.

Upgrade to 390x or 980Ti?

Like some others, I'd say wait if possible. I actually just sold my 980ti for $550 locally ($25 less than I got it for new) and picked up a super cheap XFX R9 390 to hold me over until I can see what the new cards have to offer.
