Future of CPU prices: AMD and Intel?

CPUs were still cheap back when Intel and AMD were in fierce competition (Netburst vs K8). Competition leads to lower prices, not higher. Intel already have a 4.5 GHz (Turbo), 8-core CPU with 10% higher IPC, at $599, so that's the absolute highest price AMD can go with for the next 8-core CPU...

Ryzen 7 stability

RM can easily load one full core on my system on its own. Temp fluctuations are normal with Ryzen due to SenseMI. It depends on the motherboard, which sensor it uses and how it reports the temp.

How fast is your CPU at running the AMD Blender benchmark?

Well it seems everyone is running different versions and render settings so hard to compare any results.. FWIW, running 2.78c and just opening the file and hitting F12, I got 23.86 seconds. 1800X @stock.

Yep, but keep in mind that actual bandwidth does increase with clock frequency, even if latency is the same. So 3200 C16 is still "better" than 3000 C15, and requires a better bin. Ryzen also has this "peculiarity" where the inter-CCX communication latency and bandwidth are linked to memory...
