I am guessing that is a comment about the Intel debacle? To be fair, it was only Raid 5 and up you had to pay for wasn't it?... (Only to be fair) Wasn't there something about it would also only work with Intel NVMe's (for Intel)??... I am guessing that since AMD doesn't produce NVMe's, that is...

Overclocking a workplace PC?

Are you sure the HR department checked thoroughly where he had his degree from? >.<... sounds like it came from a vending machine... Our IT department actually lets us install extra RAM and SSD's our self (if we are ok with it) under the general assumption that "Most developers can do that"...

Because of interest, I am a software architect so it would be interesting if the case was the later... The whole concept of things like folding@home, seti@home is that you lend your hardware to do calculations for others, the fact that he has full control doesn't make any difference, this was...

I know what folding@home is... but you didn't answer my question... Although I think I can take it as an answer that you don't actually do Distributed computing your self, your just lending your hardware to others that do.

Is the 2600K the most future proof CPU ever?

There is the Memory barrier though, I only just recently upgraded my i7-970 because 24GB had become a bottleneck a good while back, CPU wise I have never feelt the need for more and I am almost convinced that it could break 10 years had it not been for the platform (started on a i7-920 around...

The common price/performance metric we often see discussed is a little pointless from a larger perspective though, instead the performance/watt is much more interesting... That would have to be full system usage though and not just the CPU isolated... (Skylake-X is not a shining example in that...

Nope, apparently 4x16 (64) GB kits is not in stock anywhere (locally), I guess they don't sell to many of those >.<... So unless I order abroad I have to wait :(... I can find the board at one other dealer, it would cost more though but depending on the answer from where I ordered on how fast...

So i received a Core i9 7900x this weekend, and now it's just laying on my desk mocking me as the ASUS X299 Prime Deluxe was out of stock and the 8x16GB as well, so I don't even have a system to install it into yet, and I don't currently know how fast they can get the board, the RAM should be...

Well when you give you video the title "The X299 VRM Disaster" ... Then you have kind of already set out on what the focus is, so perhaps that is partly his own fault... It is a shame that it hasn't evolved in a constructive way though, and instead ended in people throwing mud back and forth...
