Some of the with/without AA performance comparisons in that review are striking.

Looks like R600 is let down by its AA implementation.
Yet card reviews often mention that boards follow the reference design. It doesn't seem that anyone (nVidia or the board makers) was in a hurry to dispel our misconceptions.
I have a 2005FPW and sometimes game at 1280x1024, tbh I find the black bars pretty unobtrusive, its only 13 pixels top and bottom.
OTOH I would have definitely done for a larger screen if not for the price (I guess this is stating the obvious).
Haha, they actually state in that article that the 'dark' pictures they have taken don't do the displays justice...How precisely is looking at pictures of a superior display technology using my own inferior display ever going to show it in a good light?
As far as dx10 goes I would expect that it will take a while after vista's release before many games use it (a year?) and even longer before dx9 and dx10 paths are very different.
