Hey, unfortunately that didn't fix my problem. I turned my computer off instead of restarting and it did the same thing. It would show the "loading windows" screen but freeze before it begins loading. I ran the Samsung HD utility and it found an error. So i'm afraid this drive may be dying soon...
I tried changing the cable and so far it seems to have fixed the problem. Would anyone know why that would have fixed it? The other wire looks to be in good enough shape to work. The black plug was only slightly warped or bent.

No unfortunately it's not. My brother and I switched graphics cards when he was programming with CUDA when he was in school. I now have his Gigabyte Radeon 4870 1GB.

Just a heads up. If you have Trend Micro PC-Cillen don't use the "Immunize" feature in Spybot S&D. It will cause your PcScnSrv.exe to utilize 100% of your CPU power (50% with dual core) at startup for like 5 minutes, and at other random times.
