Mix SLI

Yes they have to be the same GPU, but they could be different clocks. Once you put them in SLI, they will both be downclocked to the lower one. Example: A stock GTX280 SLI'd with an overclocked GTX280. When you enable SLI in the drivers settings, they will both be at stock speeds.

Best AGP card to upgrade an old system for gaming?

3850 would be the best. It has the most updated chip on it, DirectX 10.1, the most stream processors, highest clocks... The 2600XT has slightly more memory bandwidth but it is 2 generations old. Check out these great comparison charts: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/131...

GTX 280

I have 2 EVGA GTX 280 in SLI, watercooled, at 729 mHz core,1300 mHz memory,1458 mHz shader. Do you think it is worth it to vmod? Is there a huge risk? Or is it just a pencil mod?

Stream processors...

The fastest stream processor is still useless with drivers. Ati might have better stream p's but Nvidia has better drivers and CUDA.

So what exactly is the difference between the 8800GT and the 9800GT

You're right. Well at least they are doing something over there. I guess nVIDIA just release some new bios code to all motherboard makers of the 790i to fix some issues. I don't have the actual article link though.

Mr. AK, Only High Resolution gaming like 2560x1600 and 1920x1200 benefits from 3-way SLI. Many review prove this if you read them. Same with 3dmark06, 2 way SLI and 3-way SLI with the same cards will have the same score at 1280x1024, but at 2560x1600 and 1920x1200, 3-way will perform a lot...

I am running on water. I can easily put it to 3.6gHz (300x12) but it gets too hot because I have 3 8800GTX watercooled on the same water loop. Right now the CPU is at 2.46gHz (13x266) and it is at about 55 Celsius at idle. At 3.6gHz, it goes up to 60 Celsius at idle.
