[NEWEGG] Samsung EcoGreen F4 2TB - $99.99AC+FS

Can't install serial gamepad controller in Windows 7

With the Gameport-USB adapter, wouldn't it appear to be a USB connection to Windows? However, I have my doubts that any of these adapters would work in Win7-64 bit and was hoping someone else had tried one of these and could confirm it works.

Can't install serial gamepad controller in Windows 7

I want to use a Serpent Virtual RC game port adapter and radio control transmitted in Windows 7 as a joystick for Dirt 2. It works fine as a joystick in driving games in Windows XP. It connects to the PC a 15 pin serial port. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i318/ozite/SerpentVirtualRC_2.jpg...

Visual Effects (i.e., Compiz Fusion) in Ubuntu

I'm using a passively cooled 8400GS and Compiz fusion works really well at 1920x1080. The cube effect is neat.

Good cheap video card with HDMI output

I don't know about the converters. I use a $6 monoprice dvi to hdmi cable with a Gigabyte 8400GS GV-NX84G256H that is passively cooled. It works just fine at 1920x1080 with Ubuntu/MythTV.

Samsung SATA DVD burner OEM $27.99 FS

I've been using a Samsung SATA drive in Ubuntu with no problem. It's also shorter than a NEC DVD drive I was using previously. More room is always nice in an htpc case.

I have an Asus A8N-SLI Premium and a A8N-E. Both boards have been completely trouble-free for me from day 1, but each is not made anymore.

Most reliable s939 MB's

I'll throw in the Asus A8N-e, which has been performing htpc duties for me 24/7 for about the last year. Handles 3 HD's, DVD, 2 PCI tuner cards. I'll reboot about once a month, or when power goes out here in FL. I can't complain about it's performance/cost ratio, since it was an openbox...

Whats up with newegg open box?

I've had good luck and I purchased an open box Asus A8N-E from Newegg. It's been performing HTPC duties continuously for about the last 9 months. I typically reboot about once per month to make sure any updates were successfully applied, otherwise it just stays on as MythTV and is very stable.
