Was about to pull the trigger on this new one but this recent 7200.11 disaster is making me nervous as well... I've been a Seagate man for a while but WD is tempting these days..or am I just buying into the hype??
Great find OP...definitely jumping on it when available. The licensing for this software is great as it includes lifetime updates and multiple PC installs are allowed. Heard the interview with the author on Security Now and he sounds like a good guy, worth supporting his efforts with a few bucks..
My two cents..
The shift to 64-bit is slowly taking place and is clearly the future. Many mid to high-range laptops/desktops come with 64-bit systems as the default and this trend will trickle down to the mainstream Best Buy etc. machines. I've heard Balmer and Paul Thurrott talk about how...
The model number of this drive is actually the new SINGLE Platter version...hence the measly five reviews. Not much in terms of official reviews either...yet.
I also like partitioning for the OS but I'm always torn on what to do with the extra space. Because the drives are so large today, I have a 500GB drive for my media and a 640GB drive for my OS. When I partition 100 of the 640GB for the OS and programs, I have a huge partition left for possible...
Yes the deal was only active for a couple of weeks before Christmas and is now over. A special promotion I suppose, but seems like just a few of us caught it.
Yea, this deal specifically stated not to send in anything but the card. It even stated that the original box is "not suitable" for shipping and "do not include accessories". I suppose I was put on the back burner due to the holidays, but an email would have been nice... It's been nearly 3 weeks...
I'm also in the non-reply category. They received my card on 12/22 but I haven't gotten any more info...need the card to get my rig up and running again!
Does anyone know if the install file you download for the Vista Upgrade is the same as what you would get if bought retail in a box? I've tried to contact Microsoft and ask directly but I got no actual answer.
This is incredible...I've never seen a hardware company do this. BFG has won me as a lifetime costumer...pending the receipt of the new card of course.
Alright thanks for the quick response. I agree about memory being overpriced but I was actually able to pick up some OCZ for $90 (OTD), which is actually cheaper than much of the ValueRAM, so I figured why not. I just ordered the board for my new build...can't wait to witness the double boot...
Where can I find a list of compatible memory for this board (ip35-E)? Many mobo manufacturers' websites list the compatible/recommended memory brands but I do not see this information anywhere on the Abit site. Am I just blind? THanks
