Do you mean VMWare? There is some 3d acceleration in Workstation 6.5 on Windows, however you are going to need to be more specific here. what exactly do you want? A different product may be a better choice for you.

HDMI output not working

It gets weirder. It looks like the HDMI is not behaving at all, but if I plug in VGA to my monitor, and HDMI to the TV, then the monitor shows the boot sequence, up until windows loads, at which point I lose VGA as well (only when HDMI is plugged in). At this rate, Im going to replace the hardware..

Nothing in BIOS about HDMI, other than a sound option. HDMI is going through the receiver, but will try direct to TV, see if that helps.

I could have made that clearer, the video is all onboard, I am not using a dedicated graphics card. Well, just double checked BIOS, nothing in there that would indicate HDMI on/ off. So, I ask again, anyone got an idea?

Ok, I have jsut built an HTPC using an Asus M3A78-EM (780G chipset) motherboard, which has onboard HDMI, VGA, DVI and DisplayPort. I can connect it up fine to my monitor via VGA, but if I connect it to my receiver via HDMI, there is nothing. VGA to TV does nothing, but I suspect that it is...

what is the contents of your resolv.conf? Windows runs its own type of name service, which doesnt rely on DNS, which by default, *nix boxes do not run. IT can be enabled in resolv.conf normally, though I do not remember exactly how. Will see if I can find it, or someone else will probably beat...

hmmm, thats odd. Whats the output of /sbin/chkconfig --list? Is networking on for your runlevel?

auto build md device

That should be fine really. I did a "create" to make mine, and haven't touched it since. I don't have an mdadm.conf or anything, it just happens like magic. if mdadm is set to start on boot, then it will automatically scan for devices that can be in an array or something...

permissions problem

Sorry, got it solved. Re-transferred the files, and for some reason it works this time. Well, I don't know what happened, or why it now works, but at this point, I'm willing to just accept that it works.

Sorry. Ok, SELinux is disabled (internal facing web server, SELinux is just annoying in this case). OS in question is Fedora 9. Files are owned by user apache, group doesnt matter. had done a chmod -R 755 * on the directory, that didnt help. tried you commands, without the chcon, and still no...

Got an odd situation. I had to copy some files from a share accessible to my windows machine onto my Linux server. Now, these files are not accessible to apache, even if I set them to 777. I had the same files before, but someone deleted them, so I restored from the windows share. before they...

Quick and dirty guide on configuring apache web server? Building basic website?

There is TONNES of info about apache. Firstly, on Ubuntu, you normally put stuff into /var/www/ (I think that's the default location, I don't do Ubuntu). Anyway, that's configurable (along with everything else) in your httpd.conf, which would be located in /etc/apache2. But I think Ubuntu...

terminal keeps screwing up when coding

can you give an example of what causes this? bash is generally pretty stable, so for you to have found a whole new case which causes problems is unlikely, though I guess it is possible.
