INTERESTING UPDATE for grins and giggs i tried loading win98! and it works!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm going to try and load xp pro over it as an upgrade. jesus...this gets more crazy by the minute. looks like my xp cd may be bad. wonderful! computer didn't like the upgrade.

the thing i don't get is that it was working perfectly. i didn't change a thing. just did a reinstall of xp pro. it craps out at the ultra dma loader, so i tried the drives on different computers w/o any problems.

cmos wasn't an issue, but thanks for trying. as for another processor, i don't have a spare 939 laying around. this is the damndest thing i've ever seen.

Hi, Just picked up COD2 and have taken a serious performance hit. At 800x600 with hardly any bells and whistles it's slow. Nothing like COD1 was. I've got the following: AMD 64 3000+ 939 1 GB memory GeForce 6800 Is my processor the weak link? Thanks, K
