[Retired] The LCD Thread

Hi! My old crt finally died on me so I'm looking for a new lcd. I'll use it for digital artwork, 3dsmax/photoshop (not so much for actual photo editing though), but also for games and I also read quite a bit so it would be nice if text is readable. Movies aren't as important as I'll just watch...

Asus is screwing the Netherlands it seems. Helpdesk is only available through a webform that gets answered in Taiwan and when you have a comment about the support you can sent a mail to some adress in China which doesn't reply at all. I also tried the german webform but no reply as well. I'm...

What I meant is that the premium will be fanless, so where did the new fans come from? Were they specifically designed to fix the problem for the current a8n-sli (deluxe) ? Fisher999: Where are you from? (read: will they sent it to Europe?)

Apparently, the a8n-sli premium will have some sort of heatsink solution. I thought the replacement fans (that only US customers seem to get) were supposed to be for the premium or did I misunderstand something?

Anyway to get the new fan in Europe? All helpdesk stuff gets linked through to Taiwan where they just have useless untrained monkeys = no help at all. (from The Netherlands anyway)

I guess Asus customer service isn't much help either: Also I just looked at the papst site and I noticed there are different types of 412F fans, the 412FM which was mentioned here is the slowest with 4300 rpm and the 412FH is the fastest with 6000 rpm. Wouldn't it make more sense to go...

So how much higher will it be with the papst fan? :) (using standard hs) Also how hard is it to replace? can you do it without having to remove the board from the case? ( just about 0 xp here)

Im going crazy here too, it was fine for some weeks but now its making more noise than a lawnmower. My question is: will the papst fan fit with a silencer 5? Also hasn't asus given an official response yet? Cause this is insane.
