3800+x2 @ 2.4 but wont go 2.5?

Same problem. My 3800 will get to 2450 on 1.45 volts rock solid 20+ hours dual prime, countless hours of gaming and not a single crash. Stays very cool. Been running it like this for many months now. But no matter how high I crank the volts, underclock my memory, lower my HT mult etc, it is not...

I don't have a floppy in my system. What exactly is the problem this causes? Would I perhaps be able to overclock higher if I added a floppy to the system or at least told it there was one?

I had a problem with a64 tweaker where it would work fine if I made the change after I started windows but if I set it to apply the settings on boot, windows would crash when trying to start a64tweaker.. I didn't investigate it any further because I not longer needed it.

Thats obnoxious that they would do that before they put up something to replace it. It fixed my vcore problems that 1008 did not.

The 1010.03 beta bios seems to fix a bug with x2s and vcore. Prior to this bios I was unable to reach any voltage between 1.4 and 1.5 regardless of what I set in the bios.. The problem drove me nuts, I hope this helps someone else. See this thread

A8N-E, x2 3800+, very wierd vcore problem.

For anyone else who runs into this. The problem seems to have been fixed by updating to the lastest beta bios for my board 1010.03.

Temperature doesn't exeed 49C with dual prime small fft.. It's not that the voltages don't match that bothers me, it's the big jump in monitored voltage between 1.4625 and 1.474 and how selecting 1.3875-1.4626 gives me the exact same voltage, 1.39.

Are the voltages you guys are reporting based on what you set in the bios or what the temperature sensors are reading. In the bios I have it set to 1.48xx (sorry not at home to look) but the sensor reads 1.50-1.52 in the bios and via asus probe. I guess its possible my sensors could be borked...

x2 3800 vcore, how bad am I pushing it

My system seems rock solid 2500 (250x10), temperatures are 29 idle - 48 load (dual prime95, small fft, 12 hours). Vcore fluctuates from 1.5 to 1.52 with random spikes up to 1.56 for a split second every hour or so. It's been set like this for about a week now. Any lower on vcore and its not...

Most of you probably already know this, but for those who don't: Download A64 Tweaker if you need more Ram dividers. This utility will give you serveral more as well as letting you tweak about every other imaginable memory parameter. I like my board alot more now :D
