E6600 overclock

Alright, glad that you decided to o/c your e6600. Now i have the e6600 matched with the P5K vanilla, so i'm not sure if the bios is exactly the same as yours. From what I know, by adjusting your fsb, you can choose from an option of what memory frequency you want to run it at. There should...

looking to underclock a laptop

RMClock works great. here's a tutorial i followed earlier for my laptop, and it worked out pretty well http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824 now my laptop idles around 34C, and hits up to 55 when i play games.

Just got CPU & hsf, quick question about installation

the freezer 7 comes with a whole layer of. . .mx-1 paste on it, it's not a single line of it so just make sure you've got the chip clean before putting it on, and you're good =)

Considering a CPU upgrade

Reading this just makes me wanna upgrade my own rig =P If you're gonna be playing those higher end games, you might wanna consider upgrading the video card though, to a 4850 or 4870, it'll really give you the extra fps if you're gonna be doing high-res gaming too

e6600 overclock

i've hit 3.0ghz with stock vcore (maybe also a notch down), but i'm sticking with 2.8Ghz right now, because i can run it at 1.275V with temps at mid 20s on idle. havent really tried anything higher than 3.0, but i might try to see what vcore i need to be stable at 3.2 or 3.4

Average tempatures for E6600?

i'm assuming you didnt put much of an effort in bringing down the temps for me, @ 2.8ghz, 1.225vcore, with freezer 7, i hit 25/28 idle, 39/41 load

What's the highest number you can put in the Windows calculator

Right around 42000 is when I see the window flicker.

P35, 965 or 975 board?

279 for a Q6600 is pretty much the price you'll see on most sites now. I'll have to agree with everyone else when I say Q6600 + P5K = win =)

is my E6600 idling at a good temperature?

seems a tad high if you ask me i've got an e6600 @ 3.0Ghz, 1.35V I have it idle at around 25 & 28 for both cores, and they top of at about 46-47C under load I've got a Freezer 7 Pro installed, and i've got C1E and Speedstep enabled

Freezer 7 Pro + Artic Silver Core2Duo E6300 - What should temps be?

47 idle still seems too high i got the AC Freezer 7 and i idled at around 24-25 at 3.0Ghz (E6600). I agree with LoKe; try re-applying the thermal paste, or bring it back down to stock speeds and see what your temps are.

Upgrade for playing Crysis

I personally have an x1950pro .. and i'd be glad to even hit 15fps on med settings lol. . . but that was with stock 2.4ghz e6600 and stock gpu settings right now i've cranked it up to 3.0ghz with 621/736 on my x1950. . but i've yet to test out the crysis demo with these settings if you...

Check my O/C Please (E6600)

i'm sorta annoyed at my e6600. Takes me 1.3625 to keep it stable at 3.0Ghz. this is with my newly installed freezer 7 pro too. funny thing is. . . i can vaguely remember myself hitting 3.0Ghz using stock cooler with 1.35 but my temps were a lot higher.

What kind of fps are you getting with your video card in Crysis when you set all settings on very high in DX10?

lol. i believe i hit 10-15 frames on high with the DX9 modifications. This was when i ran my e6600 at stock with my x1950pro now that i got my freezer 7 pro, if i bring my e6600 to 3.0 and o/c my video card. . .i might hit a constant 15 lol

Try enabling your C1E option if you have one.

agreed. Also, if turning SpeedStep doesnt work, then you might want to disable C1E C1E is similar to SpeedStep, but it reduces the voltage as opposed to the Multiplier
