+1 And this is coming from a Turk. The whole "my ancestors" thing is silly anyway. I'm pretty sure some of the people denying the genocide right now has Armenian ancestors somewhere along the line. Most Armenian people in the eastern region that could run away from the 1915 incidents were...

Vista RC1 spontaneous reboots

That sounds plausible, but I double boot into XP, play games for hours and get no problem. Even have soft 9700 hack in XP, which should cause more heating.

Vista RC1 spontaneous reboots

Installed Vista RC1 recently, and even got my Audigy 2ZS to work without turning off driver signing (don't ask me how, dunno), but it reboots randomly. Reboot can be in five minutes, or two hours, completely random. I may be dragging a window, playing UT, opening a gadget, or the PC may be left...

Chr$(60 And &HFF)

&H prefix means the value is in hexadecimal. Hence the 255 value (15*16 + 15) AND is boolean 'and' operator, if you and anything with &HFF, you get the lower 8 bits. If you think VB is crap because of this, youshould see C.

I thought when multitasking, memory was the issue not the processor??? If you don't have enough memory, you'll start pagin into HD and this will be damn slow, no matter which system you use.

Second hand X800XT PE

I found a good deal for a second hand AGP X800XT PE. I don't intend to go PCI-E for a while, I will wait for the dual cores to get mainstream, and I think it will take a year or so. The question is, do you think it will be stupid to jump to X800XT, when it will be harder to sell a year later...

Something Blu: DVD Technology Evolves

It does not matter if the Blu-Ray standard supports MPEG4 or not. Just burn it on the media, and there will be players that recognize it, just like the current DVD players that can play DivX video, or CD players that play MP3 audio.
