How did you do with the X2 on ASUS a8V mobo? Did you get it working? If so, on which bios version?

When you say that the chipset limits the memory at 230 mhz, I do not think that they are all like this. Mine easely does 250*10 memory at 1:1 1T and this is at 1.4 volts cpu and 2.7 volts memory. It will do even higher if I up the cpu voltage which I tried at 1.65 volts, 260*10 memory still at...

Since BIOS 1010 final, there seem to have no new one without any bugs. I am a bit disappointed with ASUS for supplying these bugged files. Either it is the 1T command ot some weird multi's. I have tried 1011, 1012, 1013 and the new 1014.001 and the multi's are still all messed up, the 1T...

Looking for optimal memory

One of the best ram for the a8v deluxe is OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev. 2.0. The nice thing about this ram is that it will overclock to about DDR500 2.5-3-3-5 at 2.7 volts with this mobo. Very few of other rams will do it as they need more volts than the mobo can supply.

Help! Asus A8V deluxe rev2 + Crucial Ballistix problem...

Just an update, i bought a second a8v board a few weeks ago for testing. Well, this new board will do easely 300*8 and even 310*8 using clockgen, memory at 5/6. Memory (ocz plat. rev 2.0) will easely do 250mhz at 2.5-3-3-7 1:1 at 2.7 volts. In fact, i am only limited by the max of my cpu which...

First choice: an Asus a8v deluxe version 2. Asus have fixed all of their problems. FSB is topped about 267, memory should be ocz PC3200 platinum rev 2.0 if you want to overclock easely. Board is limited to 2,8 volts, so you need a ram which will overclock at this maximum. Second choice: Abit...

More to my Ballistix PC4000???

I also have that mobo and 3500+ winchester, i can use 240X10 easely 1:1 ram (ocz platinum rev 2.0), or 240X10.5. The highest i was able to achieve is 247*10.5 but it is not rock stable at that setting. But can only go 230X11 for some obscure reason. I think that mobo is limited by the chipset...

Looking for a vendor recommendation for a HSF

I got a thermaltake 3in1 with 3 blue leds. I glued up the heat sensor that comes with it to the bottom of the xp120 as close as possible to the processor. The fan ended working very silent (around 1600 rpm at idle and rev as high as 2200 rpm while playing games). The noise is still quite low...

URGENT: XP120 on an Asus A8N-SLI-Deluxe

Toward the ram. The film refers to a plastic transparent film that is stuck to the base with 2 little pieces of blue tape. You cannot really miss it, if you cannot see it, it got removed before you got the heatsink. Try getting a fan that rotates at over 2000 rpm if you do not want errors...

Put memory on maual not auto, then a menu will appear that will give you the choice to disable 2T.

Which Week Winchester have you got ? and what is your best OC?

Brazzmunk, Are you really really getting stable oc of 300*8.5 or around 9*280 with an asus a8v deluxe rev.2? What memory? what timing? There is a lot of us who cannot go over 245 fsb with that motherboard.

Lauy, i can hit either 10*247 stable even in games (1.5volts on cpu)(SuperPi 35 sec.).Heat is only at 39-43deg. But at multiplier 11, it is not as great 11*230 only (1.6 volts on cpu and quite a bit more heat, anyway more than i like 50to55deg.)(superPI 34 sec.).At 1.5 volts, it just does not...
