I received my cheap knockoff as well, and they guy said it was generic, but is going to send me a cable...i'd still stay away, but if you did buy one, see if you can get the cables from him....
FWIW, while the wall plates from Extron are fantastic, I am not an Extron authorized dealer, so was unable to purchase one for my self....I did find something similar and functional at RAM Electronics that was fairly inexpensive and helpful.

And I think your final suggestion is what I will do...I wanted them mounted on the wall just so there were no cables laying around to be tripped on or pulled...this is going in a youth room of a church...but it does seem easiest to me to just run some 50'...
So I have no clue where else to post besides here...I am wanting to install a projector at work and mount it on the ceiling. I'd really like to be able to run cable through the ceiling to the wall and then mount a junction box (if that's the right term) in the wall and have spots in it to plug...

Got it figured out, but not without scaring the poopie outta me!
Opened up the case to switch RAM and noticed that the fan for my Heatsink was unplugged! It must have gotten unplugged when we were messing around with the hard drive and such....plugged it back in and things worked great...
Ram is 2x256 Centon I know for sure one works...it was used in a friends while his Crucial died.
