Because you told me too late about that
Seriously, now I have 2 options:
1) Submit rebate with a "copy" of barcode
2) Return the sticks to merchant and bitch about that on Amazon marketplace
I'd rather go with (1). Any help is appreciated. Sarcastic comments are not
Oh, NO!
Those guys sent me 2 sticks without barcodes :| The stickers with serials are there, though. Could anyone post/e-mail/link/PM/whatever an image of the barcode? I don't need unique serial #'s (got those), just a generic barcode for this item?

So S3 is just like PVR7000, but made for cable? That sounds interesting--PVR7k has some cool 3rd party firmware. Maybe somebody will start "supporting" S3 one day (wishfull thinking, I guess).
Thanks GTFan!
Now I get the idea... And I don't think I will be getting S3 anytime soon. The problem is that S3 gets decrypted HD from the STB and stores it on internal hard drive. TiVo will get sued by MPAA and the likes the second they let that unencrypted signal out either thru eSATA, MRV...
Here's the catch: you don't own Microsoft product, you license it. Therefore, if you don't have a dealer license, you cannot re-sell it (well, cannot legally resell it, to be exact).
Example: you rent an apartment and your landlord says you cannot sublease it. If that's in the contract--tough...
