Question regarding raid array...

A good friend of mine runs a business based off an old Server 2000 box. Two 80gb SATA in raid 1, and apparenty one of the two drives is dead and the array is flagged critical. Instead of replacing another 80, he wants to swap the 80's for 250, rebuild the array, and start that way...

I have a laptop drive and need a certain enclosure!

Anybody know of any 2.5" enclosures that would make a 40gb w/d scorpio into somewhat of media player. Preferably onboard display. I know AIVX makes a nice media center encl...but it requires a remote to operate it. I want all controls and display onboard, even if it's shoddy.

Sony Vaio Shutdown problem

I have one of the dreaded Vaio's with the 20 some odd burnt up capicitors around the processor. Well, it won't take XP or 2k due to the APCI being built into XP/2k and can't be disabled. So I try ubuntu, and it reboots just as xp does right when APCI modules load. Then I try Mandrake...

So have I bypassed the wave of bad PSP units?

and this money is burning a hole in my pocket. Is it safe to buy one yet..I'm worried about dead pixels, and ejecting issues as well as browser problems I've read about.

Thinking of Upgrading and Fixing PC's part time on my own.

i keep a key drive (4gb alienware) loaded with PC Check, All antispy, anti mal, and antivirus programs on the fly. Also lots of HD utilities. also i have a USB/FW/Sata enclosure that has IDE/SATA on the inside. Big phillips head, and one smaller one for laptops. That pretty much covers...

Best handheld....

Just looking for something in the 300 dollar range with the most uses. I need wifi, a good web browser, and any extra perks such as storage and mp3 playing. Just wondering what the best wifi/bt enabled handheld is at the moment JUST for browsing and possibly GPS. Anyone?
