I was able to sell the old setup (Socket 775 Q6600 setup: Mobo, CPU, Ram) and upgraded to a newer system.
Now it's running on

A whole bunch of Hitachi Ultrastar hard drives that I got a deal on ebay :)

Company hiring procedures managed by mindless Human Resource drones asking for years of experience on top of a college degree for an entry level job paying $10/hr.
Managers then go online bitching and complaining how there's no job shortage because they can't even find people to hire. LOL. Go...

Waiting on a couple of Hitachi Ultrastar :whiste:
Got a decent deal (to me) on a couple of Hitachi Ultrastar on eBay. Waiting for them to come. Meanwhile, I figured out how to use Windows 7 as a file server. I don't need to build a dedicated NAS box to let everyone share music...
I don't know if it's just me or Youtube messed up Firefox. But when I click on a video and then settings (To select a higher resolution such as 720p or 1080p) all I get is the annotation option. What's going on? it's working fine with Internet explorer 11 but not on firefox?
Say that I have an extra PC for sandboxing, can you give me directions as to how to go about setting one up? What operating system do I need to install, and what software to install, how to set or configure it? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

I think you just right click on the speaker icon on your desktop and select "playback...
I'm just wondering if it's possible to get a drive to show up under "Network" and is accessible to anyone in the household without manually going to each computer and mapping a share drive. I just wanted the ease of having the drive show up automatically without any password or log in required...
Anything bad could come from plugging the 8Pin that's meant for a GPU into my motherboard? I've been using the PC for a while now with the 8 pin plugged into the motherboard.
I'm not trying to be smart here and actually was toying with the idea of having a server. However, what is the difference between having a dedicated file server vs. right clicking a drive and choose "share" on my HTPC?
Everything is running beautifully with XBMC. I also play these games (on desktop) with everything maxed out @ 720P using the xbox controller. Gaming with a home theater surround sound is amazing.
Even with an extended gaming session, the CPU temp peaked @ 50 degrees and the GPU peaked @ 62...
